If the Neo cons have proven anything, it's been when they scream the loudest about something it's becasue they are pariticipating in it...Craig and MN Airport? Foley and his pedeophilia ( yes Mark 17 is still UNDRERAGE),That Holy roller who was a Meth male prostitute John...Hell as soon as you hear what they are bitching and condemning from their soapboxes, You know they have first hand knowledge because they are Doing it themselves! It's not Homosexuals causing these 'Laud' Public activities it's the 'Straights'. No 'Johns' No Prostitutes (of either gender).
I lived in SF (great town).And the 'Gay 'districts are probably the safest.A Gay bartender probably saved me from being raped by some 'straight' who wondered into his bar and was trying to get me to leave with him- creepys SOB. the bartender told him 'this isn't your kinda place, so leave'. He told me when I finally went to leave if I see that Guy come back and he'll call the cops. It's not the Gay or Lesbians that scare me...it's the Straight males who commit violent crimes.
In fact BillO seems to have some 'AntiFemale' attitudes...same kind of look that potential Rapist had in that bar.FYI BillO Rape is not Sexually motivated as much as it is a hostile act of forced submission.In fact BillO you fit the Profile perfectly.

When these people get so giddy over the prospect of their fellow countrymen being killed as long as they disagree with their politics.

As for homelessness, drug addiction, and prostitution.... look around you. Those are epidemics just about everywhere in this country.

I have a great idea! Why don't you go do a live broadcast of your program (either radio or television, it doesn't matter) down on Castro St. at Market St.? Right there on the corner! You'd get a huge crowd!

I'm sure they would absolutely love it!

Hey, I'd even shell out big bucks to watch it!

O'Really is just feeding his viewers: white males over the age of 65 who now realize that it's too late for them to be who they actually were. They spent their lives making sure that they and everyone else were kept in line, restrained, repressed, and cold. And now they see that other, smarter people are having real lives doing real things and expressing who they are, and this older fearful generation now understands what they missed....everything.

I have to admit, I'm a bit torn by this video. On the one hand, I despise Bill O and everything he represents. This is such a blatant hack job that no one but his disciples could take it seriously.

On the other hand, I live in the Haight/Ashbury area, two blocks from the sign in the video, about 100 feet from one of the parks shown covered with homeless. I've lived in this city for several years and I have to say I really, really want to leave. (If only Bush hadn't f***ed up the economy so bad that I can't find a job now.)

I have to admit, though this city has a lot to offer, much of the video is true. On a typical day I may walk by half a dozen screaming schizophrenics. I'm constantly stepping over human feces. I take longer routes to avoid hordes of runaways and packs of homeless (all with their requisite pit bulls, which Bill O didn't mention), not all of whom are your friendly neighborhood potheads. And yes, I walk through clouds of pot smoke every time I go to the coffeeshop. It's soul-killing. When I first got here, I didn't understand why everyone was so cold and hostile. Now I do. It's the only way residents can deal with all of this. People are shut down here, completely shut down, numb to the world and to each other. It's depressing.

Sad to say, the depiction of SF is pretty accurate. Whether that's a result of "progressive values" or something else is entirely debatable. If it's a question of tolerance, I shudder to consider the alternative. I come from an intolerant world. I don't want to go back. But then if this is the other extreme, then there has to be a middle ground somewhere.

And btw, don't tell me to move. My leaving won't change the circumstances on the street, only my view of it. And when I have enough money, I do plan to get out as soon as possible.

Bill 0 that is! The No Spin Zone is spinning so fast it's making my head swim. I watch his show occassionally just for the laughs! Laura Ingram et. al. are so mad about the election they can't think "straight" (pun intended)! Religious fanatics and Republican has beens are the only people who "live" for his show and now they are a dying breed! Thank God! (pun intended).

....it's too bad because poverty could be fixed in the US without unduly punishing those of us who are better off. Poverty and homelessness is about 15% of the population. Taking decent care of them would not raise taxes nearly so much as running Bushwar. But the Refucklicans would never allow it to happen and the Dems are too compromised to advocate it. Too bad. This could be a wonderful country with only about 30 major changes!

practice here in what one Jewish writer called Baghdad by the Bay (how does that factoid screw with your tiny, little mind Billy?). How sad that he has not walked Fisherman's wharf by night or gone to the Obon festival in Japantown or seen the Chinese New Years' parade. Or the Fulton street fair. (maybe he could learn to do new things with a loofa). If he wants to stay away from my fair City then he can. Stick it Bill O. Where the sun don't shine.
